Using cloud storage services offers users many advantages. However, as described in the last post, the use of these services also involves some dangers.
In this post, we explain how you can use cloud storage services safely and protect yourself from potential risks.

There are many different providers of cloud storage. But which one is the right for you? Compare the different offers of the service providers and think about which properties are important for your needs (e.g. the possibility to edit documents with several people). So you find the cloud storage that fits your needs best. - Check the provider!
A lot of information about the security of the various providers can be found on the websites of the cloud service providers. With extensive research of tests and reviews you will find a safe provider. - Secure access to your cloud!
Make sure to choose a particularly strong password to secure your data. Furthermore, security can be increased by two-factor-authentication - Encrypts the data (if necessary)!
Data worth protecting (online banking data, personal documents etc.) should be encrypted before uploading to the cloud to prevent them from being accessed by third parties. - Check whether there are risks from storing in the cloud!
Consider whether the data you upload is suitable for storage in the cloud. Are it e.g. personal data of third parties, data protection violations could occur.
