Introduction

The contacts sync offers users the possibility to synchronise the UAS contacts of all full-time staff members – that is, e-mail, any provided telephone numbers and the office address – locally with their mobile phone.

1. Where do I find the sync settings?

In your personal profile in the CIS, you will find one of the following symbols in the upper right corner, depending on whether sync is activated or deactivated:

2. Activate sync and adjust settings

2.1 Activate sync

To activate sync, simply click on the above-mentioned symbol. In the pop-up window, confirm sync activation by entering your personal password and hitting “absenden” (send).

The settings will open after that.

Please note: While sync is basically activated after entry of the password, the synchronisation will be carried out only after the settings are saved in the second step.

2.2 Sync settings

You can view the settings either automatically after activating sync or by clicking on the sync symbol in your profile.

You can decide whether to sync the UAS contacts directly to your contacts folder or to a subfolder labelled “UAS contacts” which is generated automatically along with the synchronisation. In case you decide in favour of the subfolder version, please do not manually delete this subfolder as it is automatically deleted when deactivating the sync. Also, please bear in mind that some mobile operating systems do not display subfolders correctly – on your mobile phone, it might look as though the contacts are located directly in the contacts folder.

Furthermore, there is the possibility of synchronising the contacts including user images (of course, these require more hard disk space). To do so, please check the corresponding box.

Once you have saved the settings by clicking on “Einstellungen speichern und synchronisieren” (save settings and synchronise), the first sync is carried out. This will take a while, so do not close the window in the meantime.

Please note: Starting from this point, the UAS contacts are synchronised once a day at night. This means that it can take up to 24 hours for any changes to appear on your mobile phone.

If you wish to adjust your settings at any time, simply access the menu through your profile and change the settings.

ATTENTION: The synchronised contacts are marked with the suffix “(FH)” (UAS) after the second name. Please note that it makes no sense to change these contacts, save additional information, etc. because all these changes will be lost with the next sync!

3. Deactivate sync

In order to deactivate sync, just click on “Sync deaktivieren” (deactivate sync) at the bottom of the settings page. All synchronised UAS contacts (including any subfolders) will then be deleted from the exchange.
