(en) Changes in cloud storage spaces
From 1 August, Microsoft will drastically reduce the total available storage (Onedrive, Teams, Exchange, Sharepoint Online) in the education sector.
This also leads to acutely necessary restrictions at our university:
Onedrive for students was previously the Microsoft standard of 1TB,
must be limited to 100G in future. Students & part-time lecturers who have already exceeded this will be set slightly above the current value in order to be able to delete.Teams - Teams will also be limited to 50G
Onedrive data for alumni will be deleted automatically, there has always been no licence for Onedrive for alumni, as this is not contractually possible, but Microsoft did not delete the data automatically.
We can still retrieve them for 2 weeks if someone still uses them by mistake.Part-time lecturers will be switched from Office A1 Plus licences from Microsoft to Office A1 licences. This means that the use of Office Apps on the desktop is no longer licenced and will be replaced by Office 365 on the web.
For everyone:
Please delete any data you no longer need from Onedrive immediately - the university's storage space is limited!
