Introduction
The purpose of this short grading guide is to inform you about the possibility of entering course grades in the CIS. We would like to ask you to use this tool only if you know how to handle it properly. In case of doubt, please arrange an instructional session with the NSC.
In order to avoid any problems, brief trainings are offered at regular intervals. The tool is very easy to handle but we nevertheless ask you to read the following pages carefully.
The CIS grading tool is the interface between the teaching staff and the study programme administration and, as such, the central tool for the management of grades. For security reasons, the grades are ultimately entered into the system only after the administration has reviewed them!
1.1 Where do I find the grading tool?
Open CIS using the following link: https://cis.fhstp.ac.at, go to the item “Mein CIS” (“my CIS”) and select “Meine LV” (“my courses”). Click on a course to show details including the link “LV-Benotung” (“course grading”).
1.2 How do I enter the grades?
- Once you access the grading site for a course, the system displays a list of all students registered for this course.
- Now you can enter the grades for a certain student and accept them by clicking the “->” button or, in case you want to accept them all, the button “alle übernehmen” (“accept all”).
- Once you have entered all grades that you were planning to enter at this point (you can always fill in grades later!), click on one of these two icons: “Freigabe mit TAN Liste” (“release with TAN list”) or “Freigabe mit mobileTAN” (“release with mobile TAN”).
- Release with TAN list: You are asked to enter a specific TAN from your TAN list.
- Release with mobileTAN: You are sent a TAN via text message to your mobile phone provided that you have left your mobile phone number in your CIS profile under “Mein CIS” (my CIS) – “Profil” (profile) – “mobileTAN” (mobile TAN); icon in the upper right corner.
- Finished
1.3 What grades are admissible?
Admissible grades are: 1-5, 7 (not assessed), 8 (participated). If you find the grade “6” in an assessment, this course has already been credited!
1.4 What happens with my entered grades?
Your release generates an information e-mail to the responsible study programme administration where the grades are ultimately entered into the system.
1.5 What do the symbols mean?
- Green circle with checkmark: released entries
- Grey circle with checkmark: If you change grades that have already been released, these are marked with a grey circle with checkmark (to remind you that you have not yet released these grades and the study programme administration has not yet been informed via e-mail).
1.6 What happens with my released grades?
The study programme administration can now accept this released grade as the certificate grade which is subsequently displayed in the field “Zeugnisnote” (“certificate grade”) for you to check. In case the certificate grade differs from the released grade, the former is marked with a red frame.
1.7 Can I manage repeat examinations as well?
You can also create repeat examinations for individual students in the system by clicking on “anlagen” (“create”) in the column “Nachprüfung” (“repeat examination”). Enter the examination date and the grade into the window.
Attention: Please remember to release the grade!!!!
1.8 Can I also view/enter grades from other semesters?
In the overview “Mein CIS” (my CIS) – “Meine LV” (my courses), you can select the respective study semester.
1.9 Can I enter board examinations as well?
Board examinations cannot be entered via this tool but have to be managed through the study programme administration instead
1.10 Do I still have to submit examination reports?
The various processes such as the submission of examination reports etc. remain unaffected! You still have to fill out the existing documents in full, as prescribed by your study programme.
1.11 Who can help me if I have any questions regarding this tool?
If you have any further questions or find the wording of the guide unclear, please send an e-mail to support@fhstp.ac.at. We are happy to answer your questions and will include them in this guide if applicable!
